Taro Patch Creative Charitable Trust was established to advance education and provide community benefit through the creative industries, with a focus on cultural preservation, health and wellbeing, storytelling and creative opportunity.

Taro Patch Creative Charitable Trust is a registered charitable trust under the Charities Act 2005.

It creates belonging. Builds confidence. Preserves identity. Opens pathways. Strengthens communities.​ From grassroots workshops and youth programmes to digital storytelling and community initiatives, we are building a platform where Māori and Pacific creatives are supported to tell their stories on their own terms.

We understand wellbeing holistically and recognise the importance of spaces where people feel safe, connected and empowered.

Our Space

Located at 9 Dunnotar Road, Papatoetoe, Tāmaki Makaurau, our multi-use creative hub brings together artists, storytellers, organisations and communities under one roof.

The space is used for:

  • Workshops and classes

  • Filming and photography

  • Community events

  • Rehearsals and performances

  • Creative development

  • Cultural gatherings and talanoa
